Four Letter Word "SNOW"

We had our first dose of the dreaded "four letter word" SNOW today. Knew it was coming sooner or later, but never ready for it. Last week was gorgeous t-shirt weather and yesterday was rain and today rain/snow and cold. The bear in me is ready to emerge - eat and sleep the winter away. I know, I need to slip in some creative time and get some jewelry pieces made. I think I could easily leave the "yellow brick road" behind and move somewhere warmer. Just need to be able to win the lottery and retire. Yea baby - that's the dream.

Puppy Updae

After 12 years, I had forgotten how much work a puppy can be. Our little guy is definitely a handful. He is into everything. It is like baby proofing your house all over again. I keep telling my husband that I can't wait until the bulldog comes out and he is a lump on the floor. It is hard to get anything done these days, because you know when he is quite, he is definitely up to something BAD. He is in love with my shoes I keep by the door. I always find them under the dining room table. Fortunately, they are still in one piece. We are trying to teach him they are not for chewing and provide him with the correct chew toy. He also loves to chew on your nose or ears and boy does those needle like puppy teeth hurt. I swear he has provided my ears with more piercings. Then he looks at you with those eyes and cute little face and you can't possibly stay mad at him.

Glad it is Friday so I can sleep in tomorrow and get caught up.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Bruno is home

Say hello to Bruno. Isn't he just adorable. He is a minature bulldog and was born June 3, 2009. He is sooo sweet. You can tell he is bulldog, he plays for a few minutes and then has to take a nap. He is not much into activity.

His daddy is an English Bulldog and his mom is a brindle Pug.

Sunday

My hubby and I went to Salina, KS for a car show on Friday. Also looked at some miniature bulldog puppies. Going back to Salina today to bring Bruno home. Will post pictures after we get him hom. Can't wait to hit the road. Our little MinPin (Lady Bug) can't wait to meet her new baby brother. She needed some muscle to back up her mouth.

Hope everyone had a great 4th.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July holiday. Spent the day in Wamego at the car show, parade and ended at my oldest son's house to watch the fireworks. Our little town of Wamego, KS has the best fireworks in this area. They last for almost 45 minutes. For a little town, they really do put on a great show. Had today off from work and got a little done around the house. Moved my photo studio to the basement, giving me more room for a work area on my jewelry. Also stained a couple of shelves to go up over my work table. Hopefully will make things a little more accessible.

Well, better get stuff laid out to take to work tomorrow. It is hard to go back after 4 days off.

UGH!!!

Happy Weekend

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. It has cooled down here somewhat 95 degrees with 50% humidity. This is the first day the heat index hasn't been 110+. But it is still too hot for me, but my tomato and pepper plants are begging to be weeded and watered.

Haven't had the creativity to tackle any jewelry projects lately. Well, better get outside and get busy. Everyone have a great weekend. Stay safe and stay cool.

Take care

What is up all?

Well, Kansas is being Kansas. The forecast for this week is pushing 100 degrees and humid. The heat index is suppose to be 110 degrees.

I have come across some really great people lately. Pam has developed a really great social site Coiffures Community. Through there I have made some really great friends. Wish I could have them as neighbors, but cyber neighbors will have to do. (Hugs and Keep on Truck'in Ladies).

I have also became part of a great community on 1000 Markets. Being part of the Mid-West Market has been a great experience. There are some really wonderful and talented artists there in all different crafts. Please stop by and check out their stores at the Midwest Market

Until next time, everyone try to stay cool.

Hope everyone is having an excellent weekend.

I am still dabbling with organizing my office/studio. Still trying to find ways to arrange everything to make it functional. I still need to find a way to work in a play area for my parrot. He has to always be int he same room with mom or he tends to drive my husband nuts while he is watching TV. I currently have a very simple PVC pipe arrangement, but it isn't able to hold multitude of toys to keep him occupied and let me work. But space is an issue, not much room in here with the computer hutch, 30 gallon aquarium, work table, shelves for my bins of bead and jewelry making supplies, file cabinet and bins of bird toy supplies. I am sure will will take me a month of Sundays to find a configuration that works.

I finished a pendant and am working on a ring. I have a few project ideas running through my head which makes it hard for me to complete the items I told myself I an going to do before starting anything new.

Finally

Finally getting my office/studio organized in to a very useful room. I still have a few areas to address, but getting close. I also still need to work on the perch I made for my parrot so he can come in the room with me. He tends to scream when he is left in the other room with my husband. He only wants mom. The perch I put together is just a little low to the ground and he climbs down and then climbs up my leg to sit on my shoulder. As he is now and peering at the computer screen like he can read what I am typing. I am just waiting for him to tell me I made a typo. It is really difficult to try to construct a jewelry piece with his help.

Here are pictures of my latest projects.

Creativity has been slow

I have been slow on the creativity part of my life lately. My oldest son, Andy, bought a house. For mom, the good news is he is only about 6 miles away. Yes, I am a mother hen and don't like my baby to be too far away. So any way, as my basement dweller leaves, I have been busy rearranging my house and office/studio. Yea, I have more room now in MY room. Andy had his 55 gallon aquarium parked in my room. So now, I am busy rearranging and reorganizing.

Andy had previously lived away from home as he rented a 3 bedroom house. Thus, when he moved back home, I had to try to fit his stuff (enough to totally fill that rental) in to our house. Man, we were packed in here for the past three years.

Unfortunately, my jewelry has had to be put on a back burner lately. Can't wait to get started again.

Take care all. Better get busy on the house again.

Ready for Spring Tulips

I am so ready for spring to arrive in Kansas. We had been fooled by the weather earlier, green color started coming out, trees were budding and today is SNOW.

I am begging Kanss to PLEASE take your bipolar meds and get back on track.

Learning All the Time

I have learned a lot lately and want to thank all those wonderful and talented artist who offer their expertise via their tutorials. I wouldn't even know where to begin putting something like that together. I am sure glad that others have the talent, expertise and are willing to share with others.

Yes, I am gushing over these individuals. Through their efforts, I have been able to transform from just stringing beads on a wire to feeling comfortable making rings (thank you Bobbi). I have been totally amazed and in awe of the work they produce.

I only hope to be able to get near their level one day.

Thank you all who have the creativity and willingness to share with others. You are my inspiration.

Giving this a shot

All of this blogging, twitter, etc is a new experience for me. Computers have always been necessary for my work, Word Processing, databases, etc. of the daily grind. However, about a year and a half a go, a friend and I started making magnetic bracelets. After scoffing at others and their magnets for years, I finally had to eat my words (yuk). I found they really did help with my arthritis. Then the beading and jewelry bug hit me hard. I started expanding from just the basic magnetic bracelets, to earrings, necklaces, rings, etc. I have really enjoyed this avenue of creativity. However, I am so envious of all those that I have admired their wire work and only wish I can get half as good as they are.

My poor husband has to endure all of my "see what I made this time". He really has been good natured about it all. Hasn't complained too much when he steps on a piece of errant wire embedded in the carpet.

I ask you all to bear with me and I learn about this new blogging process. Thank you and check back often. Hopefully I won't bore you too much.
